Jaw dropping architecture, clean and precious materials for interiors and surprising color combinations. This is how I perceive the beautiful minds of Brazilian architects that have the capacity to concentrate on very big areas and make art statements out of them.
One example is Casa Cubo made by Isay Weinfeld in Sao Paolo for two art collectors that wanted a place suitable for art exhibitions, parties and a quiet living as well. Three floors and 715 square meters of grey concrete, precious wood, white walls and famous design pieces.
A suspended beautiful ironwood spiral staircase links the first two floors but that’s not the only suspended element: statues are floating up to the ceiling in the main area. Famous design pieces by Alvar Aalto, Pierre Jeanneret, Gio Ponti and Lina Bo Bardi are completing the atmosphere. Bright, joyful and magnetic place!
